Fishing by Alexandria has been kinda slow. Fishing a lot of the local lakes, and it has been hit and miss.

Fished New Years Eve and Day out of Hunters Point (East side) Houses are grouped in 25' of water. Very slow. Find 18' of water and no houses. Evening bite. Pulled in 1 20", 2 19" and 2 16" in about an hour. Ice is good for driving out on plowed roads. A little weird going out beyond plowed roads with a 40K truck and 10K of snowmobiles and equipment...your call. Bring your ATV or snowmobiles...snowshoes or ski's if you have to. <0})))))<

Brent, I've checked out twin pine houses also, the one I was in was a Sh-- H---!!! Recently I've been going to Garrison Sports , it is about 5 miles up the road just north of the Holiday gas Station in Garrison. He keeps his houses moving with the bit. He's a real straight shooter. Their houses are pretty decent. Give'em a call

I have been up at Lake of the Woods the last 3 weekends and may try Red this weekend. Usually fish out of Rodgers but have not had a lot of luck in the past and it sounds like it is pretty slow there yet. Any suggestions?? Where is Rocky End Cove?? I have heard they have been hitting there pretty good. Anyone fishing off the Cribs?

Brent, Don't feel bad. Last year was our 1st and we rented a 4 person from somewhere in whaukon. It was cheap, but lousy. The furnace made a huge explosion every time it kicked in, the hut obviously hadn't been moved in weeks, and there was a community outhouse attached to one of the shacks, with a kitchen garbage can with a plastic sack in it that hadn't been dumped in a while!. Needless to say those people would hear every pleasantry imaginable from the shitter attached to thier hut. When the resort operator said "If you get in a pinch, theres a shitter attached to #8", he meant it. We made the trip to town a couple times. Anyway we did catch a few fish and played a lot of cards and had a good time . On the 17th and 18th we are going to fishermans wharf at isle, hopeing for better accomodations. Dont give up, we havent yet!!!

tpeter,

they are driving on the ice, but i wouldn't suggest it. atv is the best bet. there is about 14 inches on walker bay, but only in spots, there was a truck that went through last weekend, and now with this warm weather, who knows.

Found this web page and thought I would give you guys some info from the south shore. Fishing continues to be great. We have our people out in about 25-30 ft of water and have seen a lot of small fish with enough nice ones to make a limit. We seem to be seeing at least one nice 9+ walleye between the houses per day. We started letting trucks drive out last week.

Good luck fishing!!

We fished Red Lake out of Hillmans over New Years. Was slow but a lot better than Montana where there isn't any water within 100 miles You guys are lucky to have heaven for fishing.
