Gull_Lake

Howdy fello fishermen's and ladies. My wife and I plan on attending the Extravaganza on Gull Lake. I would appreciate any information that anyone might have on the ice conditions and snow conditions on Gull. Also, anyone fishing on Gull, would like tips on what the big eyes are biting on. Fishing here in lower Minnesota is "FINALLY" picking up. There is an average of 8" of ice on most lakes and by the end of this week with this weather we should have a good 10" of ice. People are just now venturing out in their pick-ups. Good luck fishing and thank-you for any extra info you can give me.

Heading up to test the ice this weekend on Mille Lacs east side. We have a 10 x 20 2 story fishhouse so have to see if the ice is thick enough to pull out. Heard they were catchin em in 15 to 18 ft of water. Grabbin the camera to check bottom and a place for the shak. We'll write more on sunday. For those of you that think that a camera helps you to catch more fish, ha, well then we can tell that you have never used one b4. You will become extremely frustrated at the fact that many, many fish come in to see your lure and never bite! Still it is fun to watch! See ya fishing....

Was out on Cove Bay yesterday all day. No walleyes but a few decent size perch. Nothing like the JUMBOs we got last year on Winnie but for Mille Lacs they were nice to catch. We had 2 or 3 Northerns break us off on tipups. I saw full-size trucks out for about 2-3 miles. Ice was about 10-12 in. We went out for about 2 miles or so...

JRN,

Fishing off the south access is pretty good. Head out from the access towards the point by long bridge, some good drop-offs in there. Also, over by the bluffs is always a winner. Not guaranteeing anything though. Caught some nice fish there last year however. Anyone hear how the spearing has been?
