Now that it's December, is anyone going to be ice fishing this winter? If so, where?

Sorry, buy I'm kinda grouchy about goin' ice fishin'.....them bones is too old for that cold chill.

Besides, I ain't got the funds to add winter eqpt to my summer stuff.

And besides that --- I still got alotta Cass filets in the freezer.

Enjoy yourself though. BUT....if you foot the bill, I'll tag along.

Oh yeah, i forgot, you're probably at leasat 50 years old. I can almost remember when i was 50, it's that long ago.

As for those fillets, I can drive over to your house and fix that problem. As you know, they should be eaten within 2 months of being caught!

Merry Christmas

If you have any perch or walleye left, I will take them off your hands. Other than perch and walleye, I would just as soon eat Gortons fish sticks.

No ice fishing for me. Never really got in to it. What I did do this weekend was winterize and put the boat away, and then went pheasant hunting for a couple hours. Saw one big rooster. Flushed twice for us just within gun range. He's still out there, needless to say. Crafty old guy. But I'll be back. Just bought an 11 month old yellow lab pup... and I need a wing for training! Smile

Good luck to any ice fisher-peeps out there. The season is coming quick now. I saw lots of skim ice on the shores of local ponds and in fields yesterday.

Aw c'mon Grouch, "at least 50"....on Sat I turn 54 and will soon be joining AARP wit you.
(Kate, I still act like 34 though).

And Ff, you know all I got for you is some Rockies!
(pulled out an LMB for tonite..yum!)

A new pup, huh MM? Good luck - be sure to turn him into a good fishin' buddy....and huntin' buddy so maybe he can help you bring home some birds someday. Good luck next time out.

Young at heart, Grouch, young at heart. Like I always say, "old enough to know better, too young to care".

Besides, don't wanna look too young or I'd need a new stick to beat them off with.

Hey Mark, on another site, this guy posted he wanted to try Pawaukee last Saturday. He did. Hardest part he said was breaking the ice to launch his boat. sure paid off. He posted a pic of him holding a really nice musky.

I think I saw those photos. Last year I was going with a buddy up to S. WI to fish all the way thru late Nov/early Dec. Pretty sure we were out there the last day of open water on the lake... I think. That evening we broke thru at least 2 hundred yards of some pretty thick ice to get back to the launch! I was freaking out. Boat would ride up on the ice... then eventually fall thru. Over and over again. For the day... we had a real big fish up on a glider, and caught one fat 36 incher on a sucker. So it was worth it. I'm glad I took care of it and put her away this past weekend though. With this nasty and cold stuff moving in... that wouldn't have been fun! Shocked

How about you ff? Store it in a garage or somewhere else this winter?

Mark

Hey Kate, If my weather report is correct, (-35) you should have plenty of ice this morning.
Thats way to cold for this child.

Stay warm.
