Yep all hype and not a thing to show for it. Then to top it all off they are going to lose Brain for the year to a dislocation in his wrist that is going to need surgery. I thought Cuttler was experienced but I have seen better jobs done by local high school kids. Going to take them a lot of practice and motivation to get any better. Even the receivers were giving up on the plays before the ball was thrown. At least we still have some good fishing shows to watch.

I know it's no stretch for you to play deaf and dumb, but I always admire a guy who knows when to play "ostrich".
But just in case, I will refresh your memory: I think I'm talking about that pic with me and your belly/Bears shirt at PHole this June.

And just think next week you get the Steelers...and without Urlacher....or a real qb. Hey, didn't Cutler kinda look like Orton's twin out there?
Oops, I forgot, you were NAPPING. Nice to be retired.

Thanks for the kind words gene. I knew I could rely on you, a guy that drives 600 miles to catch rock bass. They are not a game fish, but if that is the best you can do, oh well........

Yep--when I gloat I REALLY gloat. As a lifelong Packer fan, it hasn't happened too often.
More often than it has for Bear fans during that same time, but not often enough.

And you are right - 600 there and 600 back....so I drive 40 miles per Rockie meal...not nearly as bad as you walleye guyz at 200 miles per meal.
Luckily I also get limits of LMB, Perch, Gills, NP and also........... WALLEYE!!!!
with the occassional Crappie.

But man cannot live by fish alone, so it is always nice to toss back a few cold ones while watching the Packers beat the Bears.

Lucky for you Bear fans, I may just have run out of salt to pour.
Nyuk, nyuk.

If you're running low on salt - I'll ship you some. I've got some un-eaten crow as well. Don't get too cocky yet, it's a long season!

Yeah ladies! Let's keep this a clean fight!! Laughing

Holy smokes. No fishin' talk round here anymore! So I'll throw a couple things out.

Went muskie fishing on the Fox Chain two weekends ago. First time out in MONTHS! Water was really dingy/bloomy. Moved 2 fish on topwaters before daybreak. Nothing after. Boat traffic was unbelievable by 8 a.m. It was all over at that point.

My buddy has gone out a couple times since. He's caught 3 fish between 30 and 39 on a Sandcat jerk/glidebait. Lucky SOB.

Starting to get ready for my late Oct. trip. Still a ways off, but it's never too early!

Grouch. You oughta be cutting out tomorrow or the next day. Right? If so, good luck. Keep us posted. We're in a drought lately... so we need something good!

Heard that that musky guide on the chain got 7 last week. Only thing, I heard he only got two casting, the rest trolling. I may try some trolling myself and see what happens.

Yep, leaving Friday morning before sunup. i would really like to go in October but i have never found any buddies who are willing to out up with a little chilly weather.
John Hook always had his best luck and biggest fish in late October. I am going to have to find enough money to go alone someday. As long as the water is soft the fishing should be great.

Yeah. That's the big trade-off for us this year too. Bad weather for good fishing. All it takes is being out there one time in cold nasty weather, with the fish really biting... and you don't give the weather as much thought again.

So we're expecting to be pretty cold... and to run in to some BIG fish. Wouldn't mind seeing some big pike or walleye's too. We'll see. Still a ways off, but I'm already counting days.

Good luck up there Grouch. Throw out a good report when you get back.

Hahaha. That would be what I call "poor" conditions! I'm definitely expecting the possibility of occasional snow. But when I fished in that years ago (mid-October) it was the best muskie fishing ever. But the hard-water... that prospect does NOT appeal to me.
