Hey Clark, haven't seen any talk about opener results. I figure you would give the real low-down reports. Water level, weed growth, fish catchs???? We'll be up there in a few short weeks.

My forum partner is probably up to his neck...putting the Docks in and getting ready for the first wave of fishermen/women. We will hear more from Clark and Co. in Sept. It is an ass kicking job.

I hoist one for the good resort owners...

Don't know. In years gone by, right after opener guys are usually telling of their success. This year not. Like indywalleye said, even on other sites, no one is bragging. Hey indy, we also are going to be there on the 6th to the 13th. We are staying at Cass Lake lodge. Where are you staying.

Cold, windy, wet! Plenty of fish caught by our group. Ate so many perch I'll probablt grow scales. On the morning we left it was 31 degrees with a 25 mph wind from the north and snowing at 4 AM. I'm ready to go back soon.

Grouch,
Windy at Cass Lake? I don't believe it.....

I don't have any scientific data, but I have got to believe that Cass lake it the windiest place in Minnesota!

Once again the fishing was good on opening week. We caught lots of
perch, 9 to 14 inches. The walleye fishing was a little slower but still
managed to almost bring our limit home. Grouch is correct in saying it was windy.
I believe it was on Wednesday that the waves were at least four feet on the big lake.
No emergent weeds as of yet. No Buffalo Gnats either (much to cold for them).
Fished primarily at ten to twelve feet deep. We did manage to catch some nice
walleyes in the 3 lb range.

Good luck to the next group of Cass Lake Crazies.

Thanks for the Update Blue and Grouch. T-minus 5 days and we'll try our shot on the chain.

Hey Indy, a bunch of us "Crazies" meet for lunch on Monday June 8th. If you are free you should stop by and say "Hey". We meet at the Pike hole. With my crew, the only problem we won't attend is distance and wave, and wind. We have made it most years. A few years ago, while having lunch the wind picked up. Getting back to the lodge was a real treat. Took on a bunch of water, and personally got soaked. Still fun. Looking forward to meeting you. CLL is kinda far from the PIke hole. Gowdy, Texan, gene, should all be there.
