I've got my new Humminbird 997c SI (Side Imaging) all set up. I can't wait to get up to Red and see what the actual layout and situation of the cribs and other structure is. Here is a image from a fellow Mississippi River enthusiast's 997c of cribs and a boat on the bottom of Lake Wissota in Wisc.

That is the coolest thing I have seen. Do you have to be anchored in order to get that type of picture. And what about the depth range. Red Lake is not very deep.

The boat is in 16 feet of water. This side imagine technology is awesome. It looks as if you are flying over the bottom and looking down upon it. Actually you want to be moving for the SI to work at it's best. 3 - 4 MPH is ideal. At least that's what I've read and found to be true. As far as depth, I beleive it will work up to 100 feet deep. I've used it up to 4 feet. I know other guys have used it up to 3 feet.

If you go to the humminbird website. They have sample images of sunken sail boats, ore carriers, trees, rocks and rocky humps, etc.

Or check out this site. http://imageevent.com/okoboji_images/hummingbirdsideimaging?
A ton of cool images.
