Just walked down to the lake and we now have some ice as far as you can see. I'm sure its very thin and one big wind will change everything. There is all ready ice piled up to the south.I'm sure some will think they can get out after some early season pike but not me.A fish is not worth a cold dunk even if your only fishing in 5 or 6 feet of water.I have plenty to do around here to keep me off the ice at this time.We will see if someone goes out to the last break before the weekend is over. I can tell you for sure it will not be me.

Some of the locals have now walked out to do a little fishing. There all staying close to shore and fishing the last break or sandbar. Jeff said if the winds stay down he may go wet a line and Tyler was out after pike yesterday.Jr told the wife that he did real well once the sun went down for walleye.A freash walleye dinner would be good , The wife even hinted I should go catch a couple?Whats up with that sending me out on thin ice. It is a beautifull morning here and does not feel cold at all.
I spent yesterday doing some work on the house's as a couple of weeks from now the houses will be coming out of the woods and on to the ice.
Linda if you read this Kellie has been having trouble getting ahold of you guys?

I am still looking for 16+ inches by January 18th. This cold air gets us started in the right direction.
