Just in case you guys forgot what this board is all about - I went out on Lake Michigan yesterday (1-4-07) and caught 3 trout, 1 rainbow and 3 browns. Now that's ice fishing. One brown went 7 pounds.

Good job Grouch! Post a photo if you can.

This weather is making me think more about wetting a line too. Would be fishing the Fox River for muskies if it wasn't so high and muddy. Wish they'd get some of this rain up north where they really need it!

Nice going Grouch - where at exactly and what bait/lures?
Details please!

I'd like to see pics too if you got some.

I may not be able to go fishing, but last night I ate fish.

The Grouchy One is pulling your legs with both hands.
The only ice he saw, was in the bottom of his cooler.

Much to warm here for ice on the Big Lake.

Lake Michigan off the mouth of Burns Ditch at Portage Ind. 1 on a small heavy spoon, 1 on a small Tad Polly and 1 on a Wiggle Wart. We were anchored in 10 FOW and casting to a break line where the water went from 5 to 15 feet.

As for the ice it was 1 inch by 1 inch and fit well in a cocktail glass.

Ho Ho Ho first fish of 07

Good one Grouch !
Went out on Cass two days ago, right out in front of the resort, we kept 19 perch 10"+ and 1 small northern 3lbs. or so.
Ice was 12 to 13 inches - no snow and darn slick.
Fresh perch for supper Mmmm Mmmm Mmmm

155 days, that actually doesn't sound all that bad. Now that all the xmas stuff is gone, and this warm weather, I am getting the bug. Luckily the sportsman show is tomorrow, that will help divert my desire for fishing.
