With the first week of the season winding down there has been a steady flow of boats hitting red lake. At know time has parking at the public access become an issue.Although that could change. From some of the people I know that have come fishing they have had the best fishing ever.
The first time I ever fished red lake I was 6 years old .My dad brought us up here to see our grandmother. He also took us fishing and I can still remember all the fun we had.As kids swimming in the lake was always a blast.Back then a little joe spinner was the ticket to catching walleyes. With the crappie explosion red lake once again gave people the best fishing they have ever had. I think I have heard that atleast 100 times if not more. "That was the best fishing we ever had"Now with the walleye open again thats all I have heard the first week from fishermen.
Kellie and I might do a little fishing tonight as the crappie should be moving in to the shallow water as it warms through out the day.Who knows we might even catch a walleye or two?

Jim, Al and there buddie just came in. They ended up with 13 crappies and 6 walleyes. I think they are having walleye for supper. Jerry and Lyle did not do as well and only got 6 crappies, but also got there walleyes. The greek will be up tomorrow and will be excited to go after some crappies.
