I can give you some advice, but it isn't first hand knowledge-only what I've heard through the grapevine.

-Use glow red lures
-larger crappie minnows
-if you have a vexilar USE IT!
-no jigging necessary
-deadsticking is best
-Sounds like going out of Hillman's road is very productive
-West Winds road is picking up
-5 miles out or more seems more productive
-move around until you find them, don't wait for them to come to you!
-Drill ALOT of holes!!!
-Once you find them, and fish that hole out...be ready to go on the move again! (10 feet can be all the difference it takes)
-If using a Vex. watch closely, they may follow your bait up to about 3 feet, if they do,...you'll have it. If they don't, deadstick it!
-Using a spring bobber is probably best, they aren't very aggresive at all.
-Using an ice buster bobber will work, but trim it until it barely breaks the surface of the water-remember---LIGHT BITERS!
-As always stay away from the crowds, it isn't very productive.

*And my #1 personal tip:
It is called fishing, not catching. The memories you have with your grandfather fishing will last a lifetime! I wish mine was still around to go fishing with! ~Woody
