Has anyone had trouble with Hudecs Resort lately?
I made reservations for my husband and I a few weeks ago for the new years weekend.
They told us the fish house would be ready for us at 2 and our motel room also would be ready at 2. Well with the condition of the roads we were a little late...got there about 4:30 and the fish house wasn't even on the ice and our room wasn't even ready. We ended up leaving there Saturday morning and got a fish house thru Hillmans...so at least we were able to get some fishing in but it was disappointing with the trouble we had with Hudec Resort.
The resort looks like a very nice place, maybe they were just having a bad week or something? So just wondering if anyone else has had problems or if this is common.
We want to go up again in a couple of weeks so just trying to figure out what our options are, and if we want to chance it with Hudecs again?
Any information you can provide will be great...Thanks. |

| I used them for two days before christmas and they have two types of heating systems in the room. One heats the floor and keeps the room at about 60 and the other allows you to change your temp from the 60 on up. Well the one heater was on some kind of timer and then later the second day the heater in another room went bad so the pipes froze and we had no water. Nothing they could do about it, but I had to go find the owner, who was fixing the pipes, and ask him what was going on. Luckley I bring two juggs of water and we had an extra propane tank so we could heat the room. I would recommend using cookies stuff. He gets a very good ratings from every one I know that has used him, and everyone in the area says he does a good job. |

I wasn't real impressed with Hudecs when I tried them out two years ago.
Nothing major, but, like you, they didn't have a house ready for me when they said they would and I ended up having to set up my portable in sub-zero weather.
Was supposed to be able to get into the house at 2:30 and ended up not in it till 4:30.
Not all that big a deal, but when you only have one day to fish and you drive 5 hours, and you are paying for a service, little things make a difference.
I will not be going back.
I have been going through Cookie since then and would reccomend him unredservedly. He does a great job, his sleepers are excellent and he will go the extra mile to keep you safe and on fish. |

| I see Donny every once in a while. He seems to be in great spirits. Not sure why there are so many complaints as he is a good guy and has a nice resort. There heating system is on a ripple from the co op. So the heat is not going out it is controlled from the power company. WE had that 30 below a few weeks ago. Froze are laudry room up in no time. I know for me being a one man show can be draining,if it wasn't for the wife Kellie and all her help I would probley have a few unhapppy coustormers. In the past Hudecs has had tremendus fishing. Lets not shell Donny and instead support him. He has more knowledge of red lake then I do and has explored the lake his whole life. I beleave he was the one that found the first mother load of crappies.I have to fire up the sled today so maybe I will shoot over there. Cookie on Upper Red Lake |

I agree with Cookie.
This really isn't the place to complain about services. So lets lock this one up. |
