I've been watching Joes lodge webcam every day for the last 2 months. It seems like there has been no rain and no wind since we left in May. What gives with that?

I've been doing something similar Grouch. Watching the webcams but also looking at the internet weather channel to see how it looks every day and most important for me is lake levels at the Knutzson dam. Right now its about average for the last 15 years but when it rains, once in a while, it comes up quickly a couple of inches. Then goes down fast with the damm engineers control. I'm hoping for at least average lake levels when we go in the fall to make shoreline fishing good and for easy access to other lakes and thru the Pug Hole entrance to Cass. I guess we'll see. Mother Nature is very fickle at best.

Usually the weather is more settled and the fish are starting to school. Also there are no tourists to clutter up the lake.

Haven't been doing much musky fishing this summer...so I'm going to try and make up for it in October. Heading back up to Cass/Cass area on Oct. 21 - 25 for another crack at the big dawgs! Hopefully the weather doesn't get too goofy on us, and turnover is all wrapped up by the time we get up there. If not, we'll still be flogging away! Laughing

Grouch---- Just wondering how your week at Cass went. Hope you did well. Looked like you had some decent weather. Really hoping the Walleye were hungery.

We did well. The wind was a daily problem. It pushed us away from some of our favorite places but we found some new ones. Did okay on walleye with 3 in the 26 inch range. Perching was somewhat slower as the water temperature was still in the lower 60's and the perch didn't seem to be schooled yet. Over all we had a good week and plan to go back in the spring.

Glad to hear you still found fish, Grouch. Wind being a "daily problem"....been there done that! I've spent a lot of fall days up there fishing wherever I could get out of the howling wind. Comes with the territory I suppose.

Heading up two weeks from today. I'll throw up a report when I get back.
