Our group just finished up our annual Memorial Day week fishing trip. Stayed at Lost Acres on Kitchi again this year. We did very well and caught limits of walleyes, perch, and crappies. The water temp was 68 degrees on Kitchi but only 59 on Cass. We caught all our walleyes on Kitchi in 6-10FOW on leeches. Caught quite a few 17-19" fish but none over 20" all week. Crappies were in the shallows each evening and could be had on minnows or beetlespins. Weather was great with very little wind and only one rain day. Good luck and tight lines!

Those are the 3 best eatin' species of all.

My buddy and his wife is up there this week.
Freezin in the morning but LMB and Walleye and the Jumbo Rockies are biting. He did not find any Crappie in Dick's Bay though

Our group arrives on Sat to join them.

Here's hoping for a nice week of fishing/catching.

Amen to that Gene We'll be pulling into the Pike Hole Saturday afternoon as well. The weather is always iffy, but the fishing and catching go on. Counting down the hours now.

Good report eye-doc. Thanks. Will return the favor for anyone else heading up later this summer when I get back.

Hey there MM,

The word from some guests at Birch Villa yesterday was that the Crappies are on fire in Kitchi in the shallow weeds....that might be your first plan of attack for the start of your week!

And the walleye are coming into the cleaning house this week like crazy too. And big Rockies too. So we have our hopes up.

My buddy and his wife have already agreed to cook us a fishfry when we arrive Sat.

Hope the fishing stays hot for us next week.

3----More---Days!!!! YAY!
Have a safe trip bud.

Sounds like a plan Gene! Would love to throw a handful of crappies into the livewell right out of the gate. Secure that first fish fry! Wink

Same to you. Safe travels and good luck up there.

Our group of 4 finished our June 6 thru June 13,2015 fishing with fond memories and an all around good time at the "SHOE". CLARK provided us with an excellent cabin and 18 ft lund alaskan that performed with no problems, also the bait was top notch and fresh. THANKS CLARK We did find the walleye bite a little more dificult this time, we ended up with 21 total to bring home. Largest was a 22 inch but several in that perfect 14 to 18 range. Never saw the water as clear as this year, on calm days could see 10 feet down to bottom. We caught more northerns this year than ever before which seemed odd. Also found a school of black crappie in pug hole one day at 2 pm and boated 19 all between 10 and 12 inches. First time we ever found the crappies in numbers, made for a fun afternoon. We celabrated with a PIKE HOLE cheeseburger and a cold one. Jumbo perch were biting for us all week and we must of cleaned at least 40 for great eating when we get home. Looking forward to musky marks post since we heard good reports on his groups musky results while we were at pughole. Already looking forward to next year. Hope everyone else got home safe and cant wait to read you posts.
