Just 12 more days and we'll be back on Cass. Anybody else going to be there?

How do you like September fishing? Never tried it but always wanted.

If the weather is cool enough it can be as good or better than spring fishing. The fish start to feed more to fatten up for the winter. Lake temperatures are important.

Been pretty quiet out here for a while now. I finally got my boat out on the Chain a week ago. But it was a nice day and as usual... the power boats were out in force. We caught one small muskie and I raised another.

Anyone have any recent reports from up north? Bob T...don't you usually take a September trip to Cass/Kitchi?

Was there for the last week of Sept. Temps in the high 70's, water temp 62. Fishing was so-so. Caught a lot of rock bass.

Sounds like weather was nice for you Grouch.
We might just have to try that Fall Rock Bass fishing someday!

This summer I handed out some Rockies, Gills, and Crappies to some diff friends to cook at home...they all GUSHED about how delicious they were.
Nothing better than Cass pannies whether fried or grilled..YUM.

Haven't done too much since Labor Day. Usually I find at my sis's place those lakes produce best from 5/1 - 9/1...this year they slowed down around 8/1....but it was still nice being on the water and we even got to keep about a doz gills each day we fished so that was ok.

I caught a huge turtle this summer too...will post this wkend.

Gonna take a trip in 2 wks for one last outing and to do the Fall yardwork at my sister's....I just hope weather stays nice.

Nothing to do but wait till spring. Maybe get out on the ice when it gets a lot thicker.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
