Already started Grouch. We are thinking about our return to Pike Hole the day we get back home here from there. We keep in touch with the owners all year. Just got two new reels as we do a lot of casting. Nice Brownings on sale at Bass Pro shops and with our really nice winter here we'll be getting the boat ready soon. Tune up, transom gear lube changed and fuel filter so we're fairly trouble free for the year. First some fishing here in Utah for mostly Tiger Muskies and then just waiting for our return to Cass/Kitchi for the best there is.

On another note, we have had to do Chicago style eating by ourselves and Karen has done exceptionally well recreating Scala's beef and Vienna hot dogs and we get Lou Malnaties pizza delivered here. Nice! Is Parkys and Portillos hot dogs still in Forest Park. We used to go to them when we lived in Oak Park and Lombard. And then there was Greek town, Chinatown and all the ethnic eating all over the city. No wonder I've lost weight out here. HA!

Anything new for you this year for Cass or fishing in general?
Many fond memories for me of fishing the lake front, southern Wisconsin and boating the chain. Even fished the Fox river while hunting in the fall down by Millington.

Hope all is well with you and you have a great trip after "opening" on Cass. Stay safe good luck. Bob

Always fiddling with the fishing equipment, usually ready to go at a moments notice.
Portillo's has about 12 or so places now. Closest to my home is in Crestwood (130 & Cicero Ave.)

Knock 'em dead Grouch... just stay outta Kitchi! Laughing Just kiddin'. Go where the fish are! Pug Hole and the mouth(s) of the Turtle feel like good bets that time of year.... but what do I know. Smile Just leave me some beer at the Pikehole.

I'm thinking the weather is going to make Kitchi not the place to be.

If the weather keeps up like it has... you'll be spot on. The spawners that are slow to move up the river will be free and clear and out of Kitchi/Turtle river system. Heading out to the breaks and bars on Cass! No matter... I'm sure you'll find them wherever they are.

I think MM has it just about right. The Turtle river bar might prove real good and I'd try Pug Hole and any river type inlets anywhere on the chain. Good luck guys.

Just 7 days and we'll be on our way. Geno, eat your heart out. If we catch any Rockies we'll eat them.

Our group tries to always make the opener. We've done it for over 30 years at Cass. Always go back because we always catch fish and we always have a great time.

Good luck Grouch. Knock hell out of marble eyes. And clean up on the rockies too. Plenty to go around. Cool

Just let me know if you spot any 'skies. Wink
