For the last few years we stayed in the same cabin. Price was reasonable, 900 bucks for 6 guys. They replaced it with a new cabin. Price is now 1400!!! Wow, to me that is a huge price increase. I had a few guys that wanted to go, but with that big of a price increase, and now with the chance of gas hitting 5 bucks a gallon, they said the doubt they will go. NUTS!!!!! |

There will be a few resorts going under this year, that is unfortunate. I was looking at Canada, one of my favorite in the Red Lake area. They charge by the person with a minimum cabin rate. I am not going to be making the trip. Gas up there......wouldn't want to even guess.

I can understand them wanting to pay off the new cabin, but, a 500 buck increase. I should think smaller increases over a few years would have been less painful. |

The same exact thing happened to my group a few years ago. We had always rented a trailer for something like $700 / week. Called in early Spring and they said the trailer had been removed and new cabin was built. Of course the price was quite a bit higher. Our group bit the bullet and spent the extra $.
A week of fishing on Cass is more expensive now than it was 10 years ago. But being able to spend a week with my Dad, brother & two cousins who I seldom see otherwise makes it worth the extra dough too me. |

Yea, it high, but still worth it. Only porblem is, one guy is out of work, so money is really tight, and one other guy just changed jobs and makes very little money. Oh well, life goes on. |

Camping????? you've got to be kidding. For me, roughing it means having to walk down the hall to get ice for my martini, and then finding out we are out of olives. Did you ever drink a martini, without olives????? |

Grouch is a famous fisherman and drinking name. It's not any particular nationality, sort of a hybird name.
Bier - No matter how you spell it, it's still good!
Are you going to be at Cass for the opening day? |
