So. I know it's getting in to October... but is ANYONE doing anything outdoor related? All done fishing? No hunting? C'mon guys!

For me... still going to MN in late October. Still trying to figure out what the real regs are for sucker fishing. (hearing that 12 inches is the biggest you can go). Either way, looking forward to it.

Might fish our club's muskie tournament on Oct. 24.

Would like to get out fishing locally or in S. WI soon!

Plan to go Grouse hunting in N. WI sometime in mid/late Nov.

Plan on looking at a boat next weekend. 1999 1800 Pro V Lund with a 150 Yammie. Keeping my fingers crossed. It's a long-shot, but you never know. Shocked

That's all I got for now.

Mark

Yeah Mark, October is here and it is DREARY out there.

I was thinking about hitting my sis's campground lakes but a wrench was thrown.
My bro-in-law had a quintuple, then back in for 5 stents....too young for heart problems I say. And my sis had shoulder surgery. So now it looks like we'll be closing up the trailer for winter in two weeks.

Kinda an abbreviated season this year with our worst luck in 5.
Oh well, hopefully everyone recovers and we slug 'em next year.

Hope you get decent weather for your Cass trip and can take lots of pics for us.

Mark, Karen and I will be heading out to the west desert for some Coyote spotting, maybe a few eagles and there are always deer running around. Shooting with a camera this time but will do some pistol and rifle fun target shooting also. Got some fall foilage shots up in the mountains recently. Below the last picture is why I do not argue with Karen anymore. LOL Mother nature sure know how to paint.

With your sucker rigging will you be using quick strike rigs? I understand they are really the way to go for CPRing. Hope you nail a realy big guy this fall. Good luck. How about your beverage of choice in the boat. Maybe Hot chocolate! Be cool but stay warm my friend. Wish I was there. Bob

Hey Bob, some really pretty pics. You can't beat Mother nature for true beauty. If the weather holds, we plan on hitting Deleavan next week. But, they are predicting some bad shit. Have to wait and see. Winter is hitting early this year, Mark is going to work to get his. Good luck Mark.

Bob, those are some really nice foliage pics you have posted, makes me jealous.
There is nothing like that here this year. Good luck with the camera.

Unbelievable pictures Bob. Can't believe the colors in those shots. You're a lucky dawg to have that around you.

Yep. Quickstrike rigs. Lost a big fish on one last year in MN, but they're usually pretty consistent. I also tried circle hooks last fall while fishing in N. IL and saw them work prett well. Might try them up north in MN this year.

I know it's bound to be cold when I get up there. I've got clothes for that. I'll be ready for the weather. More concerned about being ready for the FISH! Wink

Bob,

Looks like you are ahead of Illinois by about 3 or 4 weeks, the maples are turning and that is about it. Very nice photos.

I head back down to Bull S. a week from today, had to come home for the birth of our fourth grandchild, due on this Friday.
Colors down there are about the same in Illinois. Fortunately, the fishing is different!!! I am hoping to get into some "Hog" walleyes, using Minnesota late fall techniques and some 10 to 15 pound Brown trout on the fly rod. Stay warm everyone,

Col Ron

I knew we went too early. The fish should be schooling up now that the weather is co-operating. Nothing like a nice breeze at 40 degrees to bring on the bite in the fall. Not for you candy-____s though!

Lucky Clark, got the whole place to himself now. He's probably worn out from landing the big ones.

Well, Mark-I'm waiting to hear your tales of fishing. It seems that everyone else on this site has gone into hibernation for the rest of the year.

Guys, it doesn't cost anything to send a note now and then (if you paid your ISP) just to let us know your still above ground. Although I've been told that Gene and Gowdy live below the surface.

Don't think he went yet. He better hurry, or he may wind up ice fishing. LOL

Not iced up yet - some warm weather coming this week so there is still some time to get some fishinig in. Been busy closing up the resort and get some fall projects done and trying to get a few things started for this winter. It hasn't been the nicest weather the past few weeks, cold, windy and rainy and I think we had sunshine one day this month. Supposed to be nice this weekend so I'm going fishing - everything else is on the back burnner!!!

Attaway Clark...get out there and slug 'em...you deserve it after a long season of taking care of your guests.
But leave some Rockies for me for next year.
