Hi folks,

I was approached by a newspaper and they are asking me if I can provide them with an article once a week. I am quite busy running a small business and I don't have the time to do this. (PLUS...my time at Clark's place last fall was the MAJORITY of my fishing in the last 18 months.)

They are looking for articles about "fishing"...
IE "What kind of gear do you use" or "sharing a fishing trip story" or "sharing how-to tips for younger anglers."

Any takers?

Any suggestions?

Where is the paper located?

How many words per article?

Any compensation?

If they are looking for some humorous stories we can all chip in. After a week with that smelly group of Texans in June I'll have enough material for the next year.

the paper is a major newspaper in the Twin Cities.

There is no compensation...they offer a link back to this website.

To be able to write an article you would have to be eloquent, well, that leaves me out. Gowdy would be the way to go.

I'm afraid my humor is too "Lenny Bruce Blue" to become Superman ("a reporter for a major metropolitan newspaper") and besides, I'm not faster than a speeding bullet or a train.
In fact, when my buddy saw me start to hustle, he said I really put on a "burst of slow".

Great idea though...I nominate Chris Haley to do the honors on behalf of all Crazies. Go ahead, Chris, and REPRESENT!!!!!!

PS Gowdy "eloquent"? I haven't heard a good funny in a long time.

"I love to go swimmin' with bow legged women".

Would that get by in this publication, or are they high brow?

You guys want to hear a good story---

Do you know why the Jouster no longer attends our fishing trips? Well, he was sitting in the toilet, with the lights off, overhearing a couple of us rip on him mercilessly. We went on for an hour. And for the whole hour he sat in the toi toi with the lights off taking it all in. Then, I look out the window and see his Alaskan still at the dock. So I 'm thinking, we may have a situation here. So I go and open up every door in the bottom of Clark's fourplex, and no Jouster. Then I finally opened the door to the crapper, and there he was. In the dark, taking it all in like the goofball that he is. All he said is, "it's too late".

Me and Maginot walked outside laughing so hard we could barely make it to the boat. To make it worse, he didn't even leave until the next day.

Now you tell me, is that a good story or what???
