| Sorry this answer is a month and a half after the question, but I have had success all along the red in the FM area. I usually look for areas where the river bends and creates eddys and slow moving side currents. That is where I have had the best luck. |

Fishing the Red for me falls into two catergories:
1. Stationary fishing from shore.
2. Fishing from a boat.
When on shore I like to go near Woodlawn park in Moorhead / Island park in Fargo just north of the dam. A lot of people fish there and when its too busy I go to north Moorhead near the 15th Ave toll bridge or Johnson Park.
The Johnson park boat landing is a nice quiet place to fish from, its on a bend in the river and if you bring a boat is even better.
When I go boat fishing on the Red I launch from Johnson Park.
Being a MN resident I never use the ND facilities, but I am sure they are just as nice (if not better) than the MN side. The landing at University Drive and 52nd Ave S in Fargo is really nice and if I was to launch in ND I would use that one.
Good Luck,
