I have finally found a little bit of time to head to Cass for the first time this summer for a couple of days.

I am getting ready to get things packed up.

What kind of bait should I bring?

Also, we'll be fishing for walleye, so any hints on how/when to fish for them would be helpful.

Scott,

I am sure you will not be able to find a decent leech anywhere around there. I would take up some nice fat crawlers, and spend a few bucks and get some redtails, if they are available. I don't know what the water temperature is, but I will assume most decent walleyes are either in the deep water or in the shallows. If you are a night fisherman, I would definitely try the shallows, meaning as little as 3 to 5 feet. During the day, head for deep holes around mid lake "humps"-35 to 40 feet should be a good depth to start. As always, hug the bottom.

Good luck,

Ron

Good luck Scott. Make sure you bring a camera, just in case!!! Just recently there have been some real nice muskies being caught. A couple of them, have been while chasing eye's. You just never know.

Maybe a little late for a "good luck" post to you Scott.
But here's hoping you come back with a good trip report.
