Do I need an auger extension for Red Lake? How thick is the ice?

You will need an extension if you are drilling through rough ice. I haven't been up for two weeks but we needed one then. It doesn't take much to throw in the extension with your gear. You will find out if you need it when you get there.

I measured 30 inches where I was fishing today? We used are for the first time last week.
