We had been out of Twin Pines this week and did real well on the mud. Fish about 200 yards off the flats during the day and at about 2:30-3:00 head to the top of the flat, and hold on. We didn't catch any perch, but we caught some real nice walleyes. Even some slaught fish. If your looking for walleyes, try to stay away from the rocks, it seems that the small perch congrate there and the walleyes that are there won't bight because their full of perch. Don't be afraid to through those tip ups out, they seemed to work well. The hot bait was Demon Jeams and fat heads Good Luck to all and have a good new year

Rented a house from Walleyedan last weekend. In five hours on the ice two of us kept 7 walleyes threw 4 back and lost another 5 included two in the 3 lb range right at the hole.

Call walleyedan and he will take care of you. You will also be able to keep enough fish for a meal unlike Mille Lacs.

Fished out of Arnesen's 12/29 and 30. Large numbers of fish, but many small fish in 8"-12" range. DNR fella said they are the product of a strong 1999 year class. We got 4 fish in the 16"-20" range. Our shack was on the flats in approx 21' of water. On the second day, most people who did well were in 30' and over. We should have been there, too! All in all, a good time.

Butch, Bring with some tip-ups and cover some ground outside the rental shacks. The fish are spooky, the outside lines are the key. Use the house to stay warm.

Thanks for the quick reply Millelacsbob......great report. Every other year we have been nearly two miles out. I've never fished that close to shore before. If Dean gives us the option on which houses we want what would you suggest.......the east or west end??
